Top-Down Shooter Prototype
A downloadable game
This is a 2D Top-Down Shooter inspired by Space Invaders and Galaga. The goal was to move the ship, shoot enemies, and survive as long as possible while increasing the score. This is Prototype #3 in the CSGD mini degree prototype series.
What I Learned
During this mini project, I practiced to,
- Create top-down movement controls
- Implement bullet shooting systems
- Use object pooling or simple spawners
- Handle enemy spawning and movement
- Manage collisions and destruction
- Build a score + game over system
Core Features
- Player ship movement (left/right)
- Shooting bullets upward
- Enemy spawner (waves or random)
- Score increase on kill
- Game Over when enemy hits player
- Restart system

Part of a Prototype Series
This game is one of the weekly prototypes developed in the Game Development Mini Degree at Ceylon School of Game Design (CSGD).
Each prototype focuses on a single core mechanic to build real development skills, one step at a time.
How to Play
- Press space to shoot out bullets
- Aim and shoot at enemies to increase score
- If you fail to hit an enemy the game will be over
